There was a better turnout than expected as one of the main supporters the Bickfield herd is under TB restriction, but one of their cows was awarded the Championship in new ownership.

30 cows and heifers from 10 exhibitors were forward with 7 calves forward for the handling classes (53 exhibitors were showing beef and dairy calves, a welcome development if cattle are to remain part of the summer show season)

Colin Gleed was our judge and had a class of eight in calf heifers to start the day, in first place and making their "debut" were Hinton Farms (the Bartlett family) with a heifer Hinton Polly 66, she had been trained and expertly prepared by Brian and Sheila Adams, who in addition to their own 4 heifers were looking after 7 cows for Hurdlebrook and 2 for Hinton. In second place was the Adam's Chiddingstone Cassidy Margaret.
